I’m a business consultant and organisational psychologist with over 20 years of leadership experience in the creative industries.
I combine practical business experience, psychological theory and coaching techniques to help leaders optimise their commercial and operational effectiveness by focusing on their businesses, their teams, and themselves.
I’ve successfully streamlined companies and fostered stronger team dynamics, helping leaders bring efficiencies and navigate change with confidence and clarity.
Additionally, I support creative and forward-thinking professionals through consulting work and coaching.
Over the years, through determination, trial and error, and a few of life’s curveballs, I’ve learnt what I find rewarding and what I’m good at, and I like to bring these into all the work that I do with my clients…
Supporting people constructively
Helping people understand themselves, their teams and their businesses better
Operations, systems and process
Getting started with new challenges or facing or wanting to make change
Creative understanding
Background
Having graduated with a Bachelor’s in Psychology, I embarked on a career in the creative industries that took me from entry-level administrator to COO.
Over the last 25 years, I’ve worked in international corporations and founder-led SME’s across media, production, publishing, design, music and events. My experience spans companies such as Darlow Smithson Productions (DSP), VICE Media, EMI, and the BBC. I’ve run teams of over 100, managed multi-million-pound budgets, and delivered award-winning content to some of the world’s biggest brands and broadcasters. I’ve launched news, fashion, and food platforms, built teams from the ground up, established new offices during global expansions, and worked in and for businesses pre- and post-investment. I’ve been there for downturns, too, having been on both sides of a spectrum of workplace challenges—from redundancies to leadership transitions, mergers to maternity leave.
After leaving VICE in 2018, I began contracting, brought on to help bring commercial and operational efficiencies. I quickly saw that the success of a project, department or business hinged on healthy leadership team dynamics, aligned visions, and clear objectives. Additionally, after taking in-house roles off the back of these contracting positions, I learned the hard way the benefit and (in some cases) necessity of being ‘outside of the system’ to provide objective support when tackling complex team dynamics and business challenges. These insights prompted me to reconnect with psychology again, leading me to undertake a Master's in Organisational Psychology, for which I earned a Distinction.
Today, I use this blend of real-world business experience, psychological expertise, and coaching techniques to help my clients—individuals, teams, and the entire business—unpack and reshape issues. I help them understand what is really happening so they can decide what to keep, rethink, or lose to move forward with purpose.
